Perum BULOG Ternate carried out market operation, the price of rice decreased

The efforts of market rice price stabilization through the mechanism of market operations in North Maluku province began to show positive results. Recorded on the Inventory of Daily Rice Price by Center of Statistic Agency (BPS) of North Maluku Province (9/2), rice prices tend to decline from 1.56 to 3.80 percent.

In detail, the BPS Report showed that BULOG rice price (IR III) was declining 3.80% from Rp.6.133, -/Kg to Rp.5.900, -/Kg. Bengawan rice price falling 2.37% from Rp.8.792, -/Kg to Rp.8.583, -/Kg, and Kepala rice price also decreasing 1.56% from Rp.8.000, -/Kg to Rp.7.875, -- / Kg.

"The declining trend of rice price was starting since BULOG carries out rice market operation. Previously, the price of IR III quality rice in the market ranged from Rp.6.000 to Rp. 6.500, -/Kg. Surely we're very grateful about the price decline because it means the implementation of market operations is successfully affect the price. "said Head of Perum BULOG Ternate, Faisal Assegaff.

The market operation will be continued until the price of rice is completely stable. "the implementation of market operations to stabilize rice price will be carried on until the end of February 2010. It is estimated that the current rice prices in the market could go down again. If it has reached the lowest point, then the market operation will be evaluated, whether it should be continued or terminated. " said Faisal explaining. (q / q)
